Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Arya (“the Service”), provided by the Arya team (“we”, “us”). By installing Arya on your Shopify store or creating an account at aryasupport.com, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Arya is an AI-assisted customer support tool. It reads inbound customer emails from a connected inbox (Gmail), enriches them with data from a connected Shopify store, and generates suggested replies and classifications using Anthropic's Claude models. A human operator reviews and sends each reply unless auto-reply is explicitly enabled by the merchant.

Arya is a multi-channel SaaS — the Shopify integration is one connector among others (Gmail, website knowledge base). Account management and billing happen on aryasupport.com, not inside Shopify.

3. Installation & Billing

Arya is free to install from the Shopify App Store. A free tier is available. Pricing and included quotas are listed on aryasupport.com/pricing.

Billing is handled in one of two ways depending on how you started using Arya:

  • Shopify App Store installs are billed through the Shopify Billing API. Charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice.
  • Direct web signups at aryasupport.com (legacy path used by early beta merchants) are billed by our web payment provider on aryasupport.com.

Subscriptions renew monthly unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your Arya dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer pro-rata refunds for partial months, except where required by law.

4. Your Responsibilities

As a merchant using Arya, you agree to:

  • Only connect inboxes and Shopify stores that you have authority to manage.
  • Review AI-drafted replies before sending, unless you explicitly enable the auto-reply feature and accept responsibility for its output.
  • Not use Arya to send unsolicited bulk email, spam, or abusive content.
  • Comply with applicable data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) when processing customer communications through the Service.

5. Shopify Merchant Data

When you install Arya on a Shopify store, Arya accesses order, customer, fulfillment, and product data via the Shopify Admin API — only within the scopes you approve during the OAuth consent flow. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how this data is stored, processed, and retained.

Upon uninstallation of the app from your Shopify store, Arya immediately revokes the stored access token. Forty-eight hours after uninstallation, all customer personal data associated with that shop is anonymized in accordance with Shopify's shop/redact compliance webhook.

6. AI-Generated Content

AI-drafted replies are suggestions, not guarantees. You (the merchant) remain responsible for the content of every reply sent from your inbox, including when auto-reply is enabled. Arya's AI may occasionally produce inaccurate or inappropriate text; always review drafts before sending or before enabling auto-reply for sensitive topics.

Anthropic processes ticket content as a subprocessor under Anthropic's standard commercial API terms. Content is not used to train Anthropic's models and is retained only briefly for safety and abuse monitoring before being deleted.

7. Service Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform scheduled maintenance, and we depend on upstream providers (Shopify, Google, Anthropic, Stripe, Supabase, Vercel) whose outages may affect Arya. We will communicate planned downtime when possible.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Arya is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost revenue, lost customers, or reputational harm arising from use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the three months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using Arya at any time by uninstalling the app from your Shopify store and closing your aryasupport.com account. We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these Terms, including abusive use, non-payment, or violation of Shopify's Partner Program Agreement.

On account closure, we delete your personal data within 90 days, subject to legal retention requirements. See the Privacy Policy for retention details.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced via email to your account address at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France, except where applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.
